Doing All Things for His Glory

Missions

The Great Commission is Jesus's call to action, instructing believers to spread the gospel to all the people of the world.  At Providence, missions organizations follow this directive through prayer, giving, learning, and participating in mission projects.

Women on Mission meets the first Tuesday of each month at 1:00 PM to study about missions, pray for missionaries, and support the initiatives of the North American Mission Board and International Mission Board.  Members have participated in mission trips to New Orleans, Birmingham, West Virginia, Kentucky, and Canada.  Henrietta Weber is the leader, and all women are invited to participate.

Organizations for children and youth meet on Wednesday nights at 6:30 PM.

Mission FriendsMission Friends helps preschoolers become aware of God's love and learn that others also need to hear this good news.  They learn through hands-on activities, sensory experiences, Bible study, mission stories, prayer, and helping others.  Leader is Rhonda Webb.
Girls in Action (GAs), led by Christy Hixson and Teri Weeks, are learning what the Bible says about serving God and loving others.  They see examples of how missionaries are spreading God's word in the mission field, and apply what they learn through mission projects.  GAs also attend camp at WorldSong Missions Place each summer.  GAs is for girls in grades 1-6.

 Royal Ambassadors
Royal Ambassadors (RAs) are boys in grades 1-6, and they are learning how to be ambassadors for Christ and how to be fit for His service: mentally, physically, spiritually, and socially.  Part of the RA experience is an opportunity to attend camp at Shocco Springs in the summer.  Tony Cox and Eric Hartman lead the boys.
